Notts Recycles Go Green Challenge-Day 27

Are you recycling your smalls?

Day 27 Challenge

No we don't mean your underwear this time, but today’s challenge is to make a promise to recycle your small electronic and electrical items.

We all know that recycling centres are great places to recycle your old fridge or broken lawnmower. But what about the broken kettle, power tool, toaster, hairdryer or even battery powered kids’ toys?

We might be tempted to save ourselves a trip to the recycling centre for these smaller items and just pop them into your general waste bin at home but STOP!

Small electrical items contain valuable components that can be reused and/or recycled but that won’t happen if they end up in your wheeled bin and so will be lost forever.

Step up your recycling game this year and make sure that even small electrical items go to your local recycling centre where they will be sorted and sent on for recycling.

Please never place them in your general waste or recycling bin at home.
