Notts Recycles Go Green Challenge-Day 15

Are you recycling your aerosols?

Day 15 Challenge

Today’s task is to find out how many aerosol cans you have at home and what part they play in helping us get carbon savvy this week.

Aerosol cans are a convenient way to dispense common household products from deodorants to furniture polish, but what do you do when the can is empty?

Almost a third of Notts residents* weren't aware that aerosol cans can be recycled in kerbside recycling bins.

Aerosol cans are often made from aluminium which when recycled, saves 95% of the energy needed to make it from raw materials which is AMAZING!

It might not seem much recycling your next aerosol can, but if everyone in Nottinghamshire starts doing this, then collectively we can make an impressive dent in our energy use/carbon footprint.

Spend some time today finding out how many aerosol cans you have at home and make sure that everyone in your household knows that they can be easily recycled once empty - just remove the lids and pop the can in your recycling bin.
