Design a colourful poster which shows how to reduce, reuse and recycle this Christmas for your chance to win tickets to the panto!

The prize for the best poster is a family ticket to watch Peter Pan at Nottingham Theatre Royal on 4 January 2025.

You can use any art supplies you want - pens, crayons, paints or even collage with recycled materials! - but you must show how to reduce, reuse and recycle this Christmas. Your poster could show Santa using a reusable water bottle, people buying Christmas jumpers at the charity shop or elves recycling in their workshop, the possibilities are endless!

Entries are welcome from children aged 5-11. There will be one winner selected from three age categories: 5-7, 8-9 and 10-11 years old. Posters need to be received by post or uploaded using the form below by 11.59pm on 15 December 2024.

Full Terms and Conditions

Eligibility:

  • This competition is open to children aged 5-11 residing in Nottinghamshire (excluding Nottingham City).
  • Entrants must fall within one of the three age categories: 5-7, 8-9, or 10-11 years
  • To be considered, all entries must be made before the deadline (11.59pm 10 December 2024)

Submission:

  • One entry per child.
  • Posters must be original work created by the child.
  • Entries should be A4 size (210 x 297 mm)
  • Entries should be made via the online form available on the competition webpage, www.nottinghamshire.veolia.co.uk/xmasposter which includes taking a photograph or scanning the poster entry and uploading along with required information requested within the form
  • Where an entry cannot be made online, physical poster entries can be submitted via post prior to the deadline date. The child's name, age, school, and contact details of a parent/guardian or teacher should be written on the reverse of the poster submission
  • The children and other relatives of employees of Veolia, Nottinghamshire County Council’s Waste Team, and Nottinghamshire County Council’s Communications and Marketing Team and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the competition.

Deadline:

  • All entries must be received by 11.59pm on 10 December 2024
  • Entries received after the deadline will not be considered

Judging:

  • Entries will be judged on creativity, relevance to the theme, and effectiveness in communicating the reduce, reuse, recycling message.
  • The judging panel will be determined by the organisers. All panel members will be local to Nottinghamshire with a knowledge of environmental matters
  • The judges' decision is final.

Prizes:

  • One winner will be selected from each of the three age categories (5-7, 8-9 and 10-11 years old).
  • Prize winners will receive a family ticket to Peter Pan at Nottingham Theatre Royal for the 7:15pm performance on Saturday 4 January 2025.
  • The family ticket includes 5 tickets.
  • All prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash.
  • All winners and prizes to be determined and announced by the organisers using the contact details provided

Copyright and Usage:

  • All entries become the property of the competition organisers.
  • The organisers reserve the right to use, reproduce, and display the entries for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
  • The name, age and school name of the winners may be used in promotional materials unless otherwise requested upon entry within the online application form (or requested by writing if a physical entry was made by post).

Parental Consent:

  • Submission of an entry implies parental/guardian consent for the child's participation and agreement to these terms and conditions.
  • The name, age and school of the winners will be used in promotional materials unless otherwise requested in the online application form or by writing if a physical entry was made by post.
  • To retract parental consent after a submission has been made, please contact the organisers on [email protected]

Personal Information:

  • The name, age and school of the winners will be used in promotional materials unless otherwise requested in the online application form or by writing if a physical entry was made by post. This can be retracted at a later date by contacting the organiser [email protected]
  • Other personal information will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition and will not be shared with third parties. This information will be destroyed after 13 months in line with Veolia's corporate data policy.

Notification:

  • Winners will be notified by w/c 16 December via the contact information provided upon entry.

Disqualification:

  • Entries that do not comply with the competition rules or contain inappropriate content will be disqualified.

Liability:

  • The organisers are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or damaged entries.

  • The organisers reserve the right to modify or cancel the competition if circumstances require.
